Department Overview

The Department of Public Safety is responsible for protecting the public's safety by providing for coordination with first responders and the Town, developing emergency training programs, and ensuring compliance with local ordinances. The Department is comprised of one functional area: Code Compliance.



 

Department Duties

The Department of Public Safety has the following primary duties:

  • Coordinate with first responders: Sheriff's Office, Fire Department, EMS
  • Develop emergency training programs
  • Coordinate emergency management responses to incidents in cooperation with Brunswick County
  • Ensure compliance with the Town's Code of Ordinances
