Code Compliance Division
The Town of Carolina Shores Code Compliance Division is responsible for coordinating with Brunswick County public safety agencies (Sheriff's Office, Department of Emergency Services, Calabash Fire Department), ensuring compliance with Town Codes, and coordinating emergency management activities of the Town. These responsibilities are carried out using staff and volunteers that work in the areas of:
- Public safety coordination
- Code compliance
- Emergency preparedness
Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Public Safety Coordination
The Code Compliance Division is responsible for coordinating with other public safety agencies.
Law enforcement in the Town of Carolina Shores is provided by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office: Sheriff's Office
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the Town of Carolina Shores is provided by the Brunswick County Department of Emergency Services: Brunswick County EMS
Fire protection services in the Town of Carolina Shores is provided by the Calabash Fire Department: Calabash Fire Department (a private corporation, not an entity of the Town of Calabash)
Code Compliance
The Code Compliance Division carries out code compliance work primarily in the municipal limits of the Town; however, Title IX of the Code of Ordinances is also enforced in the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of the Town.
Emergency Preparedness
The Code Compliance Division carries out emergency preparedness work in conjunction with the Town's Emergency Management Agency. The Code Compliance Division is involved in pre-disaster education/training, disaster response (coordination with public safety agencies and logistics), and disaster recovery.
